There are three new games which just popped up onto XBLA: Faery: Legends of Avalon, The Undergarden, and Guwange.
Guwange is an XBLA release of an old CAVE shooter so advertising that seems like a waste of time. If you love CAVE shooters you should have already grabbed it by now.
Faery: Legends of Avalon is a turn-based RPG in a high fantasy setting where you are trying to save the fey world. I played the demo through and found it a bit lacking in heart. Flying around as a fairy seemed a bit clunky and stiff and the dialog choices played out like uninspired Mass Effect knock-offs. The customization through leveling in the game seemed pretty cool, though everything else felt a little mediocre.
The Undergarden is the star of this weeks show. What little I played of that game through the demo was fantastic. You tour through an underwater labyrinth leaving a trail of glowing plant life across the once plain, black rocks. The visuals are simply lovely and the music is great, especially the little band you can gather together. The demo is pleasantly relaxing, and a tad hard to put into words. Being hard to define is rarely a negative quality though, so definitely check it out and see if you like it too.
